Decarbonization of buildings through energy-efficient renovation of the housing stock
Climate change is already clearly felt, and limiting global warming is inevitable. The main cause of rising temperatures is the emission of carbon dioxide (CO₂), which is produced by burning fossil fuels. Buildings and transport are the third and fourth largest emitters of CO₂ after the energy sector and industry. In order to make progress towards a climate-neutral city, it is planned that CO₂ emissions from buildings will be roughly halved by 2030 and buildings will be completely climate-neutral by 2050. ecoworks is a pioneer and innovative leader for serial climate-neutral renovation and offers modular renovation solutions for real estate and housing industry portfolios. “With serial refurbishment, we are bringing digitization and industrialization to the housing stock. We convert existing buildings with prefabricated thermal building envelopes. Insulation, windows, thermal insulation and living room ventilation are already integrated ex factory into our façade elements. If necessary, new strands can also be led across the façade. As a result, renovations are available and construction times are significantly reduced. Prefabrication also provides significant quality advantages. “If desired, we can produce NETZERO standards. The buildings can then generate the required energy for heating, hot water and household electricity with photovoltaics on the roof after they are ready. In addition, the serial renovation can be used to expand the living space. In addition to balcony system solutions, we also offer extensions of up to nine full floors,” adds Emanuel Heisenberg.
